Humboldt, Iowa – The Humboldt County 100 Women Who Care Group held their spring meeting yesterday at Gordy’s at Rustix.
The group donated $14,100 to the Craig Christensen family.
Christensen, a 28-year long resident of Humboldt County is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
He was admitted to Mayo Clinic in Rochester a mere eleven days ago with complications stemming from his disease, but was released two days ago and was in great spirits at the event yesterday.
Christensen said he was shocked and honored to be presented the check.
“It just shows how great of a community we live in” he said, “we are lucky.”
The giving spirit did not stop there for the group who also made hefty contributions to the Humboldt Food Pantry.
Bushels of food were being carried out of Rustix yesterday evening, to be directly donated to the food pantry.
On International Women’s Day, the 100+ Women Who Care showed up, yet again, in a big way!
