Live State Track Results Day 1

(Updated at 12:01 p.m.) Des Moines, Iowa – The Humboldt Boys and Girls Track Field team will be competing today in the first day of the Iowa High School Track and Field Championships.

Senior Kelsey Peters will be the first competitor today, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the discus.

(Updated at 3:15 p.m.) Humboldt Senior Kelsey Peters is moving on to finals in the Girls Class 3A Discus. Peters threw 120 feet 2 inches with her first throw of the day.

The Boys 110m Shuttle Hurdle Relay team finished 4th in their heat. The team of Trevor Satern, Tyler Vitzhum, Eli Sande and Colton Monson run 1:00:56.

(Updated at 3:59) Humboldt senior Kelsey Peters threw a 7 foot PR in her final toss of the day, as Peters captured a silver medal in first ever trip to state.

Peters talked after the event, saying she was on the verge of tears.

Humboldt Freshman Bryce Gidel took 5th place in the Girls 3000m run. Gidel ran a 10:29.

The Humboldt Boys 110m Shuttle Hurdle relay team took 10th place overall with a time of 1:00:56.

(Updated at 4:42 p.m.) Senior Ryan Courtney took 17th in his final run in Humboldt blue and gold. Courtney ran 10:04.32 which clipped Algona’s Trey Engen for 17th place.

Myles Bach of Marion took first place in the event with a time of 9:28.56.

(Updated at 5:05) Humboldt freshman Jamison Heinz finished 14th in the Boys 200m run. Heinz ran 22.991. Isaiah Trousil of West Burlington Notre Dame finished first with a time of 21.56, which ties Adam Haluska’s 15 year state record.
