Humboldt, Iowa  — Improvements to the Humboldt Family Aquatic Center could be forthcoming.

The Humboldt City Council approved a $41,396.25 improvement plan for the slides at the center from Fischer Brothers of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

City Administrator Travis Goedken said the city budgeted $50,000 for the project. He said the council received three quotes on the project, running the gamut of pricing.

Fischer Brothers, of course, was the lowest bid of the three.

Goedken further explained that Fischer Brothers has done work in the past with the City of Indianola, where current Rec Department Director Chris Shaner was an intern.

Goedken said Shaner’s prior boss in Indianola had “nothing but good things” to say about Fischer Brothers and they work they’ve done for them in the past.

The council was all in favor of the matter.
