Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt Law Enforcement Center will hold continued discussion tomorrow on purchasing new radio equipment for the Humboldt Police and Sheriff’s departments.

The issue stems from a lightning strike that eroded their current system. Sheriff Dean Kruger explained the issue to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors at yesterday’s meeting.

Kruger explained to the the board that a repairman has band-aided the issue to make the equipment usable for now, but both the board and Kruger expressed interest in moving forward with new radios.

The new radio system would be paid for in a 10-year program and would not need a payment until two years from the purchase date.

The LEC Meeting will be tomorrow morning at the Law Enforcement Center at 8:00 a.m.
