Wrestling Earns Third-Place Finish at Ogden

Ogden, Iowa — The Humboldt Wildcat wrestling earned a third-place finish Saturday at the 2017 Ogden Dual Invitational.

Humboldt dominated in all but one matching, compiling a 4-1 record.

The Cats opened the morning up with a 55-17 win over Greene County, then followed with a 51-21 win over North Butler-Clarksville.

In their third match, Humboldt took on Graettinger-Terril, who stormed back to defeat the Cats, taking the final four matches of the dual, all by fall to win 37-34. Graettinger wound up placing first in Pool A and winning the invite after defeating Kuemper in the finals.

With that loss, Humboldt was slotted into the third place match, where they handled Greene County 63-18. The Cats earned six pin victories over Greene County, coming from Cresten Craven, Joey Busse, Hunter Egdorf, Brandon Johnson, Justin Jones and Cole Nelson.

Humboldt will travel to C-G-D, Thursday for a varsity triangular against the Cowboys and Hampton-Dumont.
