Humboldt, Iowa — Interim County Engineer Ben Loots informed the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors Tuesday that Secondary Roads will be applying for a sign replacement grant.

The department applies last year and replaced all of the county’s railroad signs and half of the stop-ahead signs.

Loots informed the supervisors that the grant is awarded up to $10,000.

This year, Loots indicated that Secondary Roads could look at replacing the remaining half of the stop-ahead signs, or chevron’s around curves.

Loots did say there are no guarantees with the grant application.
