Humboldt, Iowa — As the old saying goes, “shoot to get hot, shoot to stay hot.”  That’s exactly what Wildcat junior Calvin Carlson did last night.

Carlson pumped in 22 points, as the Humboldt Wildcat boys basketball team won their second game in as many tries — for the first time this season — 60-48 over South Central Calhoun.

Awakening for three fourth quarter triples, Carlson gave Humboldt upwards of an 18 point lead in the quarter, after South Central Calhoun cut the Humboldt led to four.

The Titans trailed 30-21 after two quarters, then used a 13-8 third quarter run to claw back into the game.

Jamison Heinz was also up to his usual tricks, hitting three first half threes en route to 14 points.

Humboldt is now 4-6 on the season and will be back at home Friday versus C-G-D.
