(KHBT) — The National Weather Service of Des Moines has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Humboldt County which is in effect until 6:00 p.m. Thursday.

NWS Des Moines says most of our listening area could see blizzard-esque conditions which could make travel difficult especially, they say, during the Thursday morning commute.

Thursday snow accumulations are expected between three to five inches, with ice and sleet also possible.

Additionally, winds upwards of 45 miles per hour are expected, bringing dangerously cold wind chills, as well.
