Hot Shooting Cowboys Outduel Humboldt

Humboldt, Iowa — The title, well, it says it all. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows shot 52% as a team, and 43% from three point range, in a 77-61 victory over Humboldt last Friday.

Despite Humboldt winning the second half by four points, C-G-D seemingly dominated from the word “go.”

Calvin Carlson led the Cats with 14 points, while Jamison Heinz had 12 points, but it was largely an inefficient night for the talented back-court duo.

The two of Carlson and Heinz shot 9/29 from the field and 4/12 from three, Friday night.

They were the only Wildcats in double figures.

Sam Urness and Rhett Darland led the Cowboys with 23 and 22 points, respectively. Both made four three pointers. Alex Machuca added 10 points for Clarion.

Humboldt is now 6-11 on the season and will travel to Iowa Falls-Alden, this evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:45.
