Iowa Falls, Iowa — “Well, it’ll be the game of the year.”

That’s what Humboldt head basketball coach Jason Hoag said post-game, following his team’s disappointing effort versus Clarion-Goldfield-Dows last Friday.

“It’ll mean a lot for playoff seeding” he reiterated.

Well, if Tuesday night is any indication how Humboldt can play when their best is needed, perhaps a playoff push is in the cards.

Humboldt jumped out to an 18-8 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 62-45 victory over Iowa Falls-Alden last night.

The Cats wound up winning all but one quarter and led wire-to-wire.

Humboldt numbers were not available at the time of this post. Karson Sharar had 15 points for IF-A, while Logan Aldinger led the Cadets with 16.

Humboldt is now 7-11 on the season and will look to avenge an early-season loss to Algona, this Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:45 at Humboldt High School.
