Humboldt, Iowa — Area support has now given Iowa Central the opportunity to retool and revitalize unique areas of it’s campus.

Area voters passed the near 25.5 million dollar bond issue by about 8%, with 67.5% of the voters marking a “yes” ballot, while only 60% was needed.

The largest portion of the 25.5 million dollar bond will go towards a brand-new Student Success Center, which would centralize many of the programs that Iowa Central holds.

Uniquely, the vote this year passed following a “no” vote in December of 2016 that could have seen Iowa Central bond for nearly 30 million dollars.

Additional upgrades Iowa Central foresees with their bond:

  • Increased job training
  • Upgraded Science Center
  • Improvement of Decker Auditorium
  • Improved on-campus security
  • A brand-new fuel testing lab and research center
