Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt Wildcat boys basketball team will get a bit of a travel when they open the first round of the 3A Iowa High School Boys Playoffs in ten days.

The Wildcats will get the Go-Hawks of Waverly-Shell Rock High School Monday, February 19th in Waverly.

Humboldt was uniquely paired with schools from Northeast Iowa, including Waverly, Decorah, Crestwood,  Charles City, and Cresco.

The Go-Hawks, as of today (Friday), sit at 15-5 as one of the tougher teams in 3A. If Humboldt should win, they certainly could, they could see another dose of Clear Lake’s Zach Lester.

The Cats could await the winner of Clear Lake and Cresco.

Should Humboldt defeat Waverly-Shell Rock, they would play again on the 22nd back in Waverly.

Tip-off on the 19th is set for 7:30 p.m. and of course you can hear that on 97.7 The Bolt.
