Humboldt, Iowa – Two new members of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors were sworn in yesterday morning at the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meeting.

Mr. David Lee and Mr. Erik Underberg were both under oath with the honorable Judge Stoebe at the Humboldt County Courthouse, they are now officially members of the board.

Lee’s venture in city politics began in 1979 when he served off and on for sixteen and a half years on the Dakota City City Council. He also served as the mayor of Dakota City for 14 years.

“There’s a lot of changes I’d like to see made” said Lee.

“For right now, it’s exciting, it’s rewarding. I would just like to see some changes made that need to be changed.”

Underberg spoke similarly to Lee and he understands his role now as an elected official serving Humboldt County.

“I’m very excited to be here” exclaimed Underberg yesterday morning. “I’m going to give my very best moving forward.”

“I’m here on behalf of the people. That’s not the challenging part, but I realize that I’m here to give that representation that many felt they were sorely lacking” said Underberg, boldly.

With Underberg and Lee taking over, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors then named Bruce Reimers as the Vice Chairperson while Rick Pedersen as the head Chairperson, he takes over for Jerry Haverly.
