Humboldt, Iowa – According to my well-placed sources within Humboldt High School, Victor E. Wildcat did not see his shadow, which brings six more weeks of wins for Wildcat Athletics.
Humboldt Superintendent Greg Darling said he took Victor out this morning at about 6:57 a.m. and he did not see his shadow, which marks the first time that has happened since 2014.
“It’s always a good omen for that to happen” said Darling.
“We don’t hold anything against him when he does see it, but today was a special morning, I gave him a couple extra treats when we took him back inside” Darling explained.
The last time Victor did not see his shadow, his premonition proved true, as Humboldt’s boys basketball team advanced to the state tournament in Des Moines.
