High School Sports Round-Up

Humboldt, Iowa – Here’s a look at the most recent high school sports results from Humboldt High School.

Humboldt Boys Golf – Friday, the Wildcats defeated Pocahontas High School at Humboldt Country Club. It was their first meet of the season under Head Coach Scott Birdsell.

Humboldt Girls Golf – Picked up two wins over the weekend, first of which was Friday night at Pocahontas. Senior Olivia Birdsell was the medalist shooting a 48. Brooke Anderson was the runner-up also shooting a 48; Halie George and Francis Carlson shot 49’s. Saturday the Cats took first with a win in the Jayette Invitational in Perry, Iowa. The Wildcats shot a 364 as a team and were paced by Brooke Anderson who shot an 89.

Humboldt Track and Field – The boys are fresh off a win of the Charlie Bunn Relays last Friday and are in action tonight (Monday) in Fort Dodge at Dodger Stadium. The girls will be in Algona on Tuesday and that will be covered by 97.7 The Bolt.

Humboldt Boys Soccer – Humboldt, off a 1-17 season, matched their win total from last year with a thrilling 4-3 OT win over Clear Lake last Friday. Humboldt hosts Webster City tonight (Monday) at home.

Humboldt Girls Soccer – The girls opened their season last week with a 1-nil victory over the Tornadoes of Storm Lake. Jadyn Smith scored the lone goal for Humboldt. Briana Jensen made seven saves in the win.
