Humboldt, Iowa – The Bushy Creek Area Honor Flight will be holding their next flight on May 6th, Dean Ewoldt, Veterans Affair Director said yesterday at the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meeting.
Ewoldt said there will be a pre-flight dinner Wednesday at the Fort Dodge Fairgrounds.
“All veterans and families going on the flight will go over the agenda for flight day, Wednesday” explained Ewoldt.
Ewoldt also gave a quarterly report update for the Veteran’s Affairs in Humboldt County.
Examining the budget, Ewoldt said as of now, the budget is right on for this time of year. He has continued to hear that Tinnitus is the most common service related claim in the county.
Following tinnitus, Ewoldt mentioned hearing loss and PTSD as the next two common claims within the county.
According to Ewoldt, the average claim from the V.A. takes about 115 days, which is significantly lower than in previous years.
“It’s gone down [a little bit], it used to be six months” said Ewoldt.
