Humboldt, Iowa – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors awarded a four-pack of re-surfacing projects to Heartland Asphalt of Mason City, Iowa.
While the county has not done work with them in the past, County Engineer Paul Jacobson informed the board that the DoT would not let the county not take the low bid.
Heartland came in at $1,055,360.86 which was lower than the second -and only other – bid from Blacktop Services at $1,069,000.
The engineers estimate was approximately $1,094,000.
The projects are on Ottosen Road, Bode-Hoberton Road, Berte Road and Luverne Road all in Humboldt County.
