Humboldt, Iowa — Avery Terwilliger and Kelsey Peters each had three-hit nights as the Humboldt Wildcats (11-1) bounced back from a 2-0 loss to Algona to defeat Belmond-Klemme 10-0, Thursday night.
The Wildcats scored at least once in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th innings to blow the game open — and eventually end it.
Terwilliger scored two runs and had three stolen bases and Peters drove in two runs.
Freshman Mady Lange continued her torrid pace going 1-for-2 with a triple, three runs, two walks and two stolen bases.
Ellie Jacobson spun yet another gem, allowing just one hit over her five innings of work. She struck out ten and walked just one.
Jacobson improved to 8-1 and lowered her ERA to 0.48.
Humboldt will travel to Iowa Falls-Alden today to take on the Lady Cadets, with first pitch scheduled for 7:30. Tonight’s game can be heard on 97.7 The Bolt.
