Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors agreed to purchase a new tractor for Humboldt Secondary Roads at their meeting yesterday.
The mower will be their third and will be used primarily snow-related concerns.
County Engineer Paul Jacobson said they will use the mower to mow slopes, which will help prevent snow build up and snow drifting.
Jacobson presented the board with three base bids, two from KC Nielsen and one from Humboldt Red Power. Both quotes from KC Nielsen came in well higher than that of Humboldt Red Power, however the board chose the John Deere Tiger Tractor under recommendation from Jacobson.
The quote for the Tiger Tractor was $128,000.
The firm delivery date for the equipment is January 15th, 2018.
