Humboldt, Iowa — Despite another down season, the Humboldt Wildcat boys’ basketball team was well represented on the All-NCC basketball teams’, announced Monday afternoon.

Their highest honor belongs to junior guard Calvin Carlson, who was a 2nd team All-NCC selection.

Carlson led the Wildcats in scoring with 16.6 point per game, while hitting 34% of his triples. Carlson was also one of the state’s premier free throw line shooters, hitting 87% from the foul line.

Sophomore guard Jamison Heinz was named to the 3rd team All-NCC unit, his first honor on the basketball floor in his varsity career.

Heinz was second on the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game. He was also third on the team in field goal percentage, drilling 41% of his shots from the floor.

Heinz hit the second most threes on the team and shot 33.8% in total from beyond the arc.

Humboldt returns both Carlson and Heinz next season, which should be huge in terms of team success next season.

The Cats finished 7-15 this season, closing their season last week with a playoff loss to Waverly-Shell Rock.
