Reimers Says Ministerial Association Still Eyeing Old Post Office for Food Pantry

Humboldt, Iowa — Supervisor Chair Bruce Reimers announced Monday that there is still some belief in the area that the old post office could be the new location for the Humboldt Food Pantry.

Those talks also reached preliminary stages at the Humboldt City Council, as well.

The issue that arises with the building is the mold — among various other deficiencies. However, Reimers said that there was a mold expert out to look at the building who deemed it “salvageable.”

Reimers went on to say the Ministerial Association, whom which he acts on, believes that many of the issues plaguing the building could be fixed and restored.

There was no further action on the matter as it is still in the early stages of development, if you can even call it that.

The topic will most certainly arise again in later council and supervisor meetings.
