Humboldt, Iowa — The City of Humboldt’s Community Garden is still taking applications for plots, according to Parks and Recreation Director Chris Shaner.

Shaner explained that there are approximately 18 spots left of the 54 total plots.

The price point is $5 per plot, which are 10×20.

Shaner mentioned that most of the plots so far have been used for vegetables including: tomatoes, onions, potatoes and carrots.

It’s entirely up to whoever purchases the plot, that’s the great thing about it” Shaner said.

Applications are being taken until late fall or until the garden gets filled.

For those interested in the garden, it’s located on 5th Street South, near the new housing development south of town.
