Humboldt, Iowa — On Saturday, May 26th the Humboldt Communication Center Received a report of a male subject going through vehicles in the parking lot of the Humboldt Hospital.
An officer with the Humboldt Police Department responded and searched the area on foot. The officer observed the male subject steal a 2001 Chevy Impala from the 1600 block of 12th Avenue North and fled the area ultimately going northbound on Highway 169.
A deputy with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle north of Humboldt on Highway 169. When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the vehicle fled and led law enforcement on a high speed chase.
The chase lasted for about ten miles until the vehicle pulled into a farm residence in the 1700 miles of K. Road where the male fled on foot.
The subject, Jared Reinhold, 41, from Humboldt was found hiding in a structure and was taken into custody without incident.
Reinholdt was charged with Operating without owners consent, attempting to elude law enforcement and four counts of traffic related violations.
He was placed in the Humboldt County Jail to await his initial appearance before the magistrate.
