Humboldt, Iowa — Mady Lange provided 18 points, but it was not enough as the Humboldt Wildcat girls basketball team (1-1) fell last night at home Manson-NW-Webster, 48-38.
Following up a pair of early season losses, the Cougars were able to jump out to an early 1st quarter lead and never relinquished it, as they cruised to the ten-point win.
Humboldt cut the lead to single digits three times in the second-half, but couldn’t get the lead down under seven.
The Wildcat defense neutralized Manson’s leading scorer Chloe Troshynski, holding her ten points below her season average with just 5 points.
It was the secondary scorers that helped out Manson with Sadelle Snell pouring in a team-high 13 points, while bench big Sarah Peters added 10.
Humboldt will be off until Friday, when they’ll open up their North Central Conference schedule with a road date at Iowa Falls-Alden.
No radio for Friday’s contest.
