Humboldt, Iowa — Humboldt County Engineer Ben Loots gave the news everyone wanted to hear at Monday’s Humboldt County Supervisors meeting.
Loots told the board that he is expecting the Highway 3 Bridge to re-open by the first week of December, anywhere between December 1st and December 5th.
The bridge has been closed since March of this year, and was expected to re-open by the end of October.
Of course, mother nature hardly every obliges, pushing the re-open date to December, essentially a three-week delay.
United Contractors of Johnston, Iowa was the contractor for the project, totaling north of 2 million dollars.
