Humboldt, Iowa — Supervisors Carl Mattes will be hanging up his spikes, so to speak, this week, as he calls it a career.
Mattes, who has served in the School District, and for the County Board will be retiring from his post as the board will usher in new faces for the new year.
A retirement party will be held at the courthouse Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Next up for Mattes will then be a trip to San Antonio to watch the Cylcones in the Alamo Bowl, followed by a vacation to Arizona.
Not a bad way to ring in your retirement.
Mattes caught up with KHBT as he reflected on his illustrious career.
