Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Memorial Hospital staff released the results of the 7th Annual Warm the Heart Food Drive Thursday.
The event, which helped raise money and food for the Humboldt County Food Pantry, was held Wednesday where donations were accepted from 7AM to 4PM. Many local businesses scheduled pick-ups for larger quantities of canned goods and other non-perishable items. Chantland and Hy-Vee donated 1,002 items including a 40×40 pallet full of laundry detergent and a 1,300 pound pallet of canned items. They also raised approximately $1,200.
HCMH was also having a friendly departmental contest to see who could donate the most items. The winner of that challenge was the lab, which donated 174 items.
A total of 3,905 items were donated – filling an ambulance, a bus, and a trailer. The HCMH staff would like to thank Humboldt County Public Health for organizing and promoting the event, their maintenance, transportation, and ambulance department for helping with pick-ups, and everyone that donated to this great cause.
