Humboldt, Iowa — The Humota Movie Group allowed residents to take a piece of history with them this weekend and the seats went like wildfire.
The movie theater received an anonymous donation of 350 new seats and saw their old ones get sapped up by eager residents in a matter of hours.
The theater, operating as a 501(c)3 will also be holding a fundraiser this weekend at Gordy’s at Rustix.
They’ll be hosting Humboldt’s own Lone Tree Revival band at Rustix beginning at 7:00 p.m on Saturday.
The event will run until 10:00 p.m.
According to movie to movie theater manager Sarah VanOrd Humota will also be hosting a silent auction at the same time.
Of course, all items sold in the silent auction are to the benefit of the Humota Theater.
