The 2020 Youth Musical for Humboldt County Youth is cancelled for everyone’s safety! See everyone in 2021!

The Humboldt Dakota City Noon Kiwanis have postponed their annual Palm Sunday Roast Beef Dinner and the annual Easter Egg Hunt scheduled in April.

From the Humboldt County Extension Office:

Due to the coronavirus situation, we are cancelling or postponing the following events as we are prioritizing the health and safety of all. We will post future opportunities as soon as we are able to do so.

  • The remaining Regional Swine Building Maintenance Workshops are postponed. This includes the workshop scheduled for March 16th in Webster City. Rescheduled dates will be announced as soon as this information becomes available.
  • The ‘Who Leads, Who Follows’ Child Care Provider training scheduled for March 17th in Humboldt has been cancelled.
  • The Farmland Drainage Workshop scheduled for March 30th in Humboldt has been postponed. A new date will be scheduled for early September. Announcements will be made as we get closer to that time.
  • 4-H activities or events thru April 4th are cancelled until further notice. 4-H Leaders and members should watch for emails with updates.

The Humboldt Extension and Outreach office will be closed to the public until further notice.

We take serving Iowans seriously, which is why we are prioritizing the health and safety of our community and staff, and closing our office to the public until further notice.

Staff will be working remotely.

Businesses

“The Edward Jones offices of Tony Christensen and Clifton Kalafatich are now closed to all in-person meetings.  They are still at their offices and available for everyone by phone or email.”

Starting Monday, March 30th, the Humboldt County Food Pantry will be open one day a week on Thursdays with extended hours of 9 AM to 3 PM. Curbside only and pre-bagged. Please stay in your cars and the staff and volunteers will assist you. Donations may be dropped off outside the west door during these hours.

HMIA/AMC has closed their office to non-essential walk-in traffic from the general public. Meetings may be set by appointment and premiums may be deposited in the premium drop box at the Sumner Ave location.

THE HUMBOLDT REC CENTER will be closed until further notice as of Tuesday, March 17th, cancelling all programs until further notice. They will be freezing all monthly and yearly memberships and adding the missed days to the end of each membership.

FASTENAL in Humboldt is closed to walk-in traffic until further notice.

GENEVIEVE’S CAFE AND GIFT SHOP in Humboldt County Memorial Hospital will be closed until further notice.

LIVERMORE PUBLIC LIBRARY will be closed to the public effective Wednesday, March 18th. Call the library at 379-2078 for any items, they can be delivered.

LIFEWORKS GUARDIANSHIP SEMINAR in Fort Dodge has been cancelled.

HUMOTA MOVIE THEATER is closed until further notice.

LARRY’S PHARMACY will be locking their doors and asks all customers to use the drive thru and call ahead.

BURRITO MEXPRESS will be open regular business hours and will offer walk-in, carry out, delivery, and curbside pick up. Delivery to Humboldt/Dakota City area. Call 515-332-8063 to place orders.

MILLER’S LANDING will be closed until further notice in the interest of public safety and the safety of their employees and wishes all in the community to be safe.

PERSONALI-TEES will be open by appointment only. If you have an order, they will contact you for pick-up. They are also still welcoming any new orders you may have. Call 515-332-2344 or e-mail personali-tees@hotmail.com for more information.

The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors in conjunction with Humboldt County Emergency Management have made the decision to close the county offices to limit the spread of COVID-19. This will continue until further notice. The goal is to protect the citizens and employees of Humboldt County. County employees will continue to perform essential county services by appointment. Please contact the Department by phone if you have questions regarding services or to make an appointment.

LAKE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Goldfield is closed until further notice.

The USDA office in Humboldt will be open for appointments only. People are asked to call 515-332-2456 to answer screening questions and set up appointment.

BANK IOWA’s main downtown and 169 location is locked as of Thursday. Please use the drive-thru bank on 169. Night drop is still available. Call ahead for appointments with loan officers or to get into safety deposit boxes.

BUCK’S BACKSEAT DINER will be offering pick-up or carry-out services from 10 to 2 and 5 to 7.

NORTHWEST BANK is open for business with limited lobby access. Call for an appointment 1-800-678-4105. Drive-up service remains open and available during regularly scheduled hours.

FEATHER YOUR NEST FOR LESS will be temporarily closing their doors to the general public until further notice. They will still be making all previously scheduled deliveries at this time. If you wish to reschedule your delivery or are sick, please call Bev at 712-450-4797. FYNFL will be open by appointment only and limited to 10 people at a time if you need to come in for the next few weeks. If you wish to shop online, we have been notified by the USPS that packages are a very safe way to receive and send gifts.

At the same time, we will be increasing measures to clean and sanitize our stores each evening. In addition, Bomgaars offers curbside and carryout service at all locations. Call ahead with “what you need” and we will have it ready and waiting when you arrive at our stores. Call your local Bomgaars for more details.

CARBON BOUTIQUE is closed until further notice.

KHBT is open only for scheduled appointments and deliveries. We can take calls at 515 332 4100, but are not accepting walk-in visitors at this time.
