Part-Time Dispatcher – Humboldt County 911 Communication Center

Location – 430 Sumner Avenue, Humboldt, Iowa 50548

Hours: Two (2) 10-Hour shifts per week guaranteed, up to four (4), 10-Hour shifts, depending on vacations, sick leave, etc. Employee may be expected to work a variety of shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with some nights, weekends and holidays.

Reports to: Communications Officer/Supervisor

Job Summary: This is a public service position, which requires the ability to think quickly, prioritize calls for service, maintain confidential information, to multi task and work under stressful conditions. It also requires an individual to communicate well with others both verbally and in writing, who is a team player, can work with a diverse group of individuals, and can take direction from others.

Compensation: $15.82/hour plus $.35 shift differential from 9:00 PM to 7:00 Am. This is a part-time position with employee scheduled to work 20 hours per week. Employee will accrue sick and vacation days but cannot use it until the employee becomes a full-time employee, or the Union Contract changes
