Rutland, Iowa — The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says two were injured in Tuesday afternoon single vehicle accident.
The accident occurred near Sheridan Avenue on the west edge of Rutland.
Deputy Cory Lampe says Caleb Thompson, 16, of Humboldt was the driver heading westbound. Thompson’s vehicle encountered an icy patch of roadway, lost control and entered the south ditch and rolled before coming to a rest on it’s wheels on the Three Rivers Trail.
Thompson and passenger Eddie Tejada-Murillo, 18, of Humboldt sustained minor injuries.
Both parties refused medical treatment at the scene.
No citations were issued due to the icy road conditions.
The vehicle was considered a total loss and was towed by Jergens Body & Frame.
