Dakota City, Iowa — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors officially approved the resignation of County Zoning and Safety Officer Melody Larson at their meeting Monday.
Larson, in a letter addressed to the supervisors, announced her resignation at two weeks’ priors meeting. Larson had been acting in her full capacity since 2016.
She will continue serving her role as the Emergency Management director.
“I am frustrated with the lack of support given to me in these capacities” Larson said via letter to the board. “I feel as though [the] board has overlooked my job performance in an attempt to save the county money.”
Larson expounded by saying that she believes the board did this by placing the job title out at the County Engineers office.
The supervisors will act relatively quickly to find an adequate replacement for the time being, at an interim level. No names of possible candidates have been discussed at this time.
