Terrorism Threat Thwarted at Fort Dodge High School

Fort Dodge, Iowa — A 15-year old Fort Dodge male was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after making suspicious threats via social media, Fort Dodge law enforcement says.

Juveniles within the school discussed the possibility of participating in a school shooting.

Officers were able to act quickly, subdue the threat and arrest one.

Following the charge, the juvenile male was transported to Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center in Eldora for further proceedings.

Fort Dodge Police Department Captain Ryan Gruenberg commended the acts of others who took the threat seriously and reported it to the authorities.
