Girls Soccer Eviscerates CAL in 10-0 Victory

Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt Girls soccer team is off to a 2-0 start on the young season.

The Wildcats notched their second victory in emphatic fashion, a 10-0 home win over CAL-Latimer.

Humboldt got four goals apiece from senior Jadyn Smith and junior Amber Westling. Chase Rice, a sophomore, added the other two goals for the Wildcats.

We’re playing confident right now, and playing as team” said junior defender Sophia Hjelmeland post-match.

We’ve improved toghther and have to keep playing together” she finished.

Senior goalkeeper Bri Jenson was largely untested Tuesday night, but did make one save on her lone shot faced.

Humboldt is off Wednesday before traveling to Aplington-Parkersburg for a non-conference tilt Thursday evening, with kick-off slated for 5:00 p.m.
