Humboldt, Iowa — One person is dead as a result of a traffic accident in Humboldt last night.
The Iowa State Patrol says 61-year old Olaf Engman of Humboldt died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
Law enforcement officials say Engman was a pedestrian crossing Highway 169 when he was struck.
The driver of the vehicle was Celeste Reilly, 54, of Humboldt.
Her vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 169
Reilly told the Iowa State Patrol she did not see Engman until he was in the roadway crossing the road.
Reilly’s front passenger corner struck Engman, fatally injuring him.
The collision remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol .
