Humboldt, Iowa — Humboldt native Ardie Strutzenberg is now a member of the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame.

The story was first reported in the Fort Dodge Messenger.

According to his Iowa Blues Hall of Fame Profile, Strutzenberg has been a figure in the Iowa blues scene since 1969, where he started out on the Chitlin’ Circuit with singer Chuck Strong.

The Hall of Fame reports Strutzenberg has served as the Musical Director of Music Maker Blues Revue since 1991. The Music Maker Relief Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit, was founded to preserve the musical traditions of the South by directly supporting the musicians who make it, ensuring their voices will not be silenced by poverty and time.

Strutzenberg was also inducted into the Alabama Blues Hall of Fame for his work in 2017.
