Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt Police Department is reporting that local businesses are receiving calls from someone claiming to be from MidAmerican and threatening to shut off electricity.
The calls appear to be coming from 507-205-7352 and they give a case number and are demanding payment.
This is a scam.
If local residents receive a call like this and have concerns or questions, they are encouraged to call MidAmerican.
