
Humboldt, Iowa — A Rutland woman is facing charges following a Friday evening traffic accident.
Humboldt Law Enforcement officials say Meagan Bishop, 31, of Rutland was the driver of a vehicle that crashed heading westbound on 200th Street.
According to the crash report Bishop lost control of the vehicle onto the gravel and slid for about forty feet before entering the south ditch. The vehicle traveled in the ditch for over 300 feet before she drove the car back onto the shoulder.
Bishop re-entered the travel portion of the roadway before entering the ditch again, sliding for about fifty feet before coming to a rest.
The injured party was an 11-year old Rutland juvenile. The juvenile was taken to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office with minor injuries.
Bishop was cited with 2nd Offense Operating While Intoxicated, Neglect of a Dependent Person and Driving With an Open Container.
Bishop was uninjured in the accident.
