Humboldt, Iowa — For the first time in over twenty years Humboldt’s football sidelines won’t be patrolled by Greg Thomas.
The long-time head coach stepped down after an illustrious career that saw him capture a state championship and claim several North Central Conference honors.
For his ability, Thomas will be enshrined into the Iowa Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame this fall.
Thomas will be enshrined alongside Newell-Fonda coach Brian Wilken.
Thomas served in the IFBCA Shrine Bowl last summer coaching the North All-Stars.
Derrick Elman, a veteran assistant from Iowa Falls-Alden, was named Humboldt’s head coach earlier this spring.
