Rolfe, Iowa — A Rolfe man and a 12-year-old girl were pronounced dead after a tractor accident Saturday evening near Rolfe, authorities say.
At about 6:40 p.m. Saturday the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call regarding a tractor rollover.
The accident occurred just west of Highway 15 near Rolfe.
The deceased man was 46-year-old Glenn Winthers of Rolfe. Officials believe that Winthers lost control of the tractor, causing it to enter the ditch.
The tractor then rolled, pinning Winthers and the girl under it.
Assisting Pocahontas County Sheriff’s was the Rolfe Fire Department, Pocahontas Ambulance, Pocahontas Police Department, Pocahontas County Conservation, and the medical examiners office.
