Dakota City, Iowa — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors, along with county engineer Ben Loots came up with a solution regarding Bridge #47 near Bradgate.
The two sides met regarding the topic at Monday’s meeting and surmised that they will go with “Option #3” which would entail replacing the bridge with a railroad tank car and then changing the road to a level B road.
A level B road, in lamens terms, simply means a minimum road, per the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Loots told the board the approximate cost on the matter will be between $50,000-$60,000.
In previous meetings both Loots and the board discussed what the best option would be for the area, without coming to a firm conclusion.
Monday a conclusion was reached.
The board passed the idea unanimously.
