Dakota City, Iowa — Humboldt County Secondary Roads was very busy at this past Monday’s supervisors meeting with three action items being approved.
Firstly, the board approved plans and specifications for two bridge replacements: a box culvert on Washington Avenue in Norway Township and a twin box culvert on Georgia Avenue in Delana Township. The board set the bid-letting for those projects for March 20th at the County Courthouse at 10:00 a.m.
Second, the board approved the purchase of two Caterpillar motor graders from Ziegler, Inc. for $594, 451 with trade-ins. The board approved that purchase unanimously.
And lastly, the board approved the Secondary Roads 2019 paving to Manatt’s Inc. in the amount of approximately 3.3 million dollars.
County engineer Ben Loots said the project up for paving is P33, Bode south to Livermore and P66 from Hardy north to the county line.
The total is about 13.5 miles between the entire project which boils down to about 240 thousand per mile, said Loots.
