Washington D.C. — Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) was able to speak to the press about the passing of the disaster relief bill that is awaiting the signature of President Trump after passing the House earlier this week.
Ernst and Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) were able to add an amendment in the bill that would cover the lost grain from storage bins in Iowa, and she says she hope to see President put the package into law. Ernst also shared her concerns about the growing tension between America and Mexico over border disputes which has resulted in tariffs being threatened from the Trump administration and Senator Ernst hopes they can work through this issue quickly.
All expectation for the relief package bill is for President Trump to sign it when he returns from his visit to the UK. You can watch all of the Ernst interview here.
