Des Moines, IA — Seven years later Chris Godfrey will get his trial against former Iowa Governor Terry Brandstand and two of his aides.

Godfrey is accusing the Brandstand administration of forcing him to resign because of his sexual orientation. The discrimination lawsuit was filed in 2012 and is finally getting a trial. According to Radio Iowa, the state of Iowa has paid over $1 million in attorney fees in the defense of Brandstand over the time span for who’s worked on the case.

Governor Brandstand and his aides are scheduled to testify next week at the Polk County Courthouse in Des Moines.
