Humboldt, IA — Another week started with the Humboldt County Supervisors meeting as they gathered at the Humboldt County Courthouse yesterday morning.

Supervisor members made discussion for just 45 minutes as the main topic of concern was funding for the new animal shelter building in Humboldt. The supervisors took action on their part by approving funding for the new building by paying $7500 a year and will match donations from the public up to a total of another $2500. Other towns in Humboldt County will be asked to contribute to the new shelter at their own discretion.

The Humboldt Community Animal Shelter Board will be in charge of operations for the facility which is planned to be located on the northwest side of the industrial park in Humboldt. Two other actions were taken as the board approved to sign a letter of support for the Homeward Housing Trust Fund which was already in the budget for the county for the amount of $5000. Also, the Humboldt County Sanitary Landfill Commission Financial Report was placed on file.

Assignment of county sales tax certificates for the city of Ottosen were tabled and moved to next week as documents needed for the actions were not present at the time of the scheduled meeting. The meeting closed with committee reports and only Chairman David Lee had meetings which were with the Humboldt Community Animal Shelter and Veteren Affairs.
