Juvenile Charged with Threat of Terrorism, Transferred to Central Iowa Detention Center

Humboldt, IA — According to a press release from the Humboldt Police Department, a juvenile male is currently at the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center in Eldora after a threat was reported on Wednesday.

On the evening of October 9th, 2019, the Humboldt Police Department received a report of a threat to the Humboldt Community School District. The Police Department, along with help from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, investigated the threat and as a result, took a juvenile male into custody. The male was charged with making a Threat of Terrorism – a class D felony. He was transferred to the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center.

The Humboldt Police Department has determined this was an isolated incident and no additional threats to the school district are expected.

The press release also states that “in all instances, when a criminal charge is filed, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
