Humboldt-Dakota City, IA — The Humboldt-Dakota City Chamber of Commerce is dissolving effective December 31st of this year.

According to a letter issued to Chamber members on November 13th, there has been “a decrease in the number of memberships” and as a result the Chamber of Commerce “can no longer meet the needs of [the] community members.”

The Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce made the decision to dissolve the organization during a regularly scheduled meeting. The letter states “this was a very difficult decision” but the Board felt it was in the best interest of the community. Any Chamber Bucks issued to employees or residents will need to be used by December 31, 2019.

The Board of Directors encourages Chamber members to “support future endeavors aimed to unite our communities and showcase the assets Humboldt County has to offer.”
