Humboldt, IA — Property owners are encouraged to remove snow and ice from sidewalks in a prompt manner.
According to a press release from the Humboldt Police Department, it is the responsibility of the property owner to remove accumulations within 12 hours in commercial zoning districts and 24 hours in residential zoning districts. After the allotted time, the city will remove any snow or ice at the cost of the property owner.
The release states “the city shall serve notice of non-compliance by first class mail or by posting such notice conspicuously on the property only one time during a snow season.”
If someone is in non-compliance, the release says to contact the Humboldt Police Department at 515-332-2600.
