Governor announces assistance for employees and employers affected layoffs related to COVID-19

Humboldt, IA – Governor Reynolds announces assistance for employers and employees impacted by layoffs due to COVID-19.

Director of the Humboldt County Development Association Alissa O’Connor says “we have received information from Iowa Workforce Development that Governor Reynolds has announced assistance for employees and employers affected by COVID-19 and related layoffs”.

Benefits are available to those who have been laid off due to COVID-19. Additionally anyone who has to stay home to self-isolate, care for family members or due to illness related to COVID-19 might also be entitled to benefits.

Those seeking benefits must meet all other eligibility requirements as well. Those requirements essentially include working for wages from an employer who claims you as an employee in six of the last eighteen months and have earned at least $2,500 in the same time period.
