Humboldt looking to bring on an animal control specialist

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt is now collecting RFPs for an animal control professional to provide service for the city.

On Monday, April 6, the City Council for the City of Humboldt issued a request for proposal (RFP) for an animal control specialist. The city is seeking a qualified professional firm or individual to provide animal control service within the borders of the city.

The contractor will perform all the services customary performed by an Animal Control Officer at the request of city officials. Services include the impounding of any animal that poses a danger to humans or animals in the city. Contractor will also be responsible for the transportation, control and sheltering of animals as needed. The contractor will be need to be available seven days a week, 24 hours a day with all calls occurring between 5 pm and 7 am considered emergency calls.

The City of Humboldt will be receiving RFPs for the Animal Control Specialist from now until April 29 at 4 pm. All RFPs should be clearly labeled “Animal Control RFP” and sealed upon deliver to City Administrator Goedken. Once the due date has passed the RFPs shall be read. The anticipated date of awarding the contract shall May 4.
